Our experience with Samsung devices is that when you are instructed to hold your phone close to a sensor, you need to hold the phone very close to the sensor (1 inch). Of course, Bluetooth must be turned on on your device.
When the sensor senses your phone close enough, it will start blinking green several times and then should proceed to the next stage.
Pressing the inner circle of the sensor reboots the sensor, so there is no need to do that. Since you've done that, we know that the sensor is operational.
I was able to easily setup my iPhone 7 Plus, and then later my Galaxy s10+, but only by holding it 1" away form the ceiling mounted sensor. However, my Galaxy Note10+ would not even do the initial pairing and my Galaxy A50 would do the initial pairing, but would not "calibrate"
I can't get my iphone 11 Pro Max to work with these (or any phone for that matter). They all blink green when pressed, nothing happens when it tries to connect... Very frustrating, as a couple places they were installed in 10ft ceilings, so large ladder is required.. Should I send these back ?
What? You guys need to get your app straight then. Because it tells you to press the sensor when it won't connect..
And of course I downloaded the app.. How else would I know it doesn't work.. The setup process? I don't know what the process is because the first step of this setup process is connecting and it doesn't work. I place my phone a foot away, an inch away, and even closer,, for minutes at a time.. Doesn't help.. The green light only blinks when I press the sensor.. not when any phone comes nearby...
Tried with all 5 sensors and 3 iphones.. So either I'm missing something, or these don't work. Is there someone that can help, or at least help me get refunded?
Can you please remove the RoomMe app, reinstall and when you first open it, make sure to approve Bluetooth / Location permission requests? Then try and see if the sensor connects with the app when you put the phone close to the sensor.
Ive already done that (twice on 2 phones). It never asks for location. I’m on iOS 14b2. Tried from my daughters phone and she’s on 13.xx whatever the latest release is.
I cannot help with iOS 14b2, so let's proceed with the iOS 13 device.
On the phone, can you go to Settings -> Bluetooth, and check if you have any devices with the name "RM"? If you do, please click on them and then selelct "Forget this device" and ty again the setup.
Also, please check on the iOS 13 device that the RoomMe app has access to Bluetooth.
considering All my phones are on iOS 14 and its going to be coming out for public real soon, don’t you think you should update the app to work properly with it? (That’s the point of developer betas). I bought 5 of these. I’d like to return these and get a refund. I’m not going through the hassle of downgrading all my devices.

Can the senor be Bluetooth paired with a phone while its on a table verses the ceiling and then later calibrated on the ceiling?
You do not need to pair the sensors with the phones other than the single pair request that appears during the RoomMe setup process.
The Setup process needs to be made when the sensors are installed on the ceiling, or the sensor will not be able to sense room entries.

Hi Timothy,
Have you downloaded the RoomMe app and went through the setup process? There is no need to press the sensors. Pressing them just reboots the sensors.
If you have used the RoomMe app, let us know what stage are you at, and we'll take it from there.
Thanks!

Is Bluetooth turned on, on your iphone?
Yes....... it is...
Great,
On your iPhone, please go to Settings->RoomMe (scroll all the way down in the settings page, to the app list).
Please check that both Location is enabled "When Using" and Bluetooth is enabled for RoomMe.
Let us know.
bluetooth is on. Location isn’t listed.
Can you please remove the RoomMe app, reinstall and when you first open it, make sure to approve Bluetooth / Location permission requests? Then try and see if the sensor connects with the app when you put the phone close to the sensor.
Also, on what iOS version are you?
