This guide will walk you through the installation of your RoomMe system.

Installation Guide

  • The RoomMe sensor detects entry to the room in which it is installed.

  • The Sensor has a cone/circular detection pattern.

​​

  • The default detection range is a radius which equals the ceiling height.

To prevent sensor overlapping (sensors detecting users in adjacent rooms), mount the sensor so it's distance from walls which are common to other rooms equals the room's ceiling height.

​

While not recommended, in small rooms, it is possible to cut the mounting location's distance from common walls by 1/4, maintaining a distance of 0.75*Ceiling Height.

  • RoomMe identifies that a user has left the room when the user enters another room with RoomMe sensor, within Bluetooth range from the room the person has left, or when the user's phone disappears from the sensor's Bluetooth range.​

Before We Start

Make sure you have what's needed to complete the installation:

RoomMe Sensor(s)

D-Size Alkaline Batteries

2 For Each Sensor

3M Command (TM) Strips

2 For Each Sensor

Important!

​

  • Use the provided 3M Command (TM) strips to mount the sensors. The strips allow easy removal and reposition with no harm to the ceiling. Once you are happy with the system's performance, if you choose to, you can mount the sensors with screws.

​​

  •  The RoomMe sensor is designed to be mounted on horizontal ceilings. It will not work if not mounted on the ceiling.

​

Go ahead and mount the RoomMe sensors:

​

  1. Attach the 3M Command strips to the sensor bracket.

  2. Install two D-Type Alkaline batteries in the battery compartments.

  3. Hold the sensor with the longer side of the sensor bracket facing room entrance.

  4. Stick the sensor to the ceiling at the mounting position. Push it against the ceiling for about 20 seconds for the 3M Command to firmly attach to the ceiling.​​

Install The App

Now that your sensors are mounted, install the RoomMe application on your phone:​

​

  • Click the App Store (iOS) or Play Store (Android) icons to get to the RoomMe app on the relevant store.

​​

  • Install the RoomMe app, launch it and continue your setup in the RoomMe app.​​
